The Sealing Wire 50/30 Spool is the most commonly used seal wire in the range. The 50/30 seal wire consists of two steel wires wrapped around each other. To complete the sealing, a seal bob is required. The lead is pinched shut with a pair of pliers. The Seal Wire 50/30 is made of galvanized steel wire and has a breaking strength of 7 kg. It is suitable for sealing gas meters, electricity meters, and water meters, for example. The seal should only be installed by a certified installer. The product is available in 2 lengths: a 90-meter reel and a 360-meter reel.

0.5mm core wire and 0.3mm wrapped wire (50/30)

The 50/30 seal wire consists of two galvanized steel wires. The core wire has a diameter of 0.5 mm. A second thread is braided around the core thread. The braided wire has a diameter of 0.3 mm. That is why this type of sealing wire is called 50/30. The total diameter of the sealing wire is 1.1 mm.

The composition of a core wire and a wrapped wire gives the seal wire an extra grip. Once the sealing wire has been placed in a lead seal, the wire is pinched by sealing pliers. Once pinched it is not possible to move the seal wire. This makes it impossible to reopen the seal. In comparison, a regular steel wire or rope has no extra grip and is therefore easy to pull out of the lead.

Supplied on spools of 90 meters and 360 meters

The 50/30 seal wire is supplied on spools. The compact spools of thread can easily be carried in a toolbox. The advantage of a bobbin is that it can cut just the right length. The seal wire is supplied on a 90-meter spool for regular use. A coil of 360 meters is available for large-scale use.

In addition to the seal wire on spools, the wire is also available in pre-cut bundles of 1,000 pieces. The pre-cut version is available in bundles of 20 cm, 30 cm, and 40 cm.

To be used in combination with seal seals and seal pliers

Sealing with seal wire and seal lead is a traditional way of sealing. The application is very simple and flexible. The seal wire can be cut to any desired length. To complete the seal, a seal is required. This is because both ends of the seal wire are slid through the lead seal. Finally, the seal must be pinched shut with a sealing plier. After squeezing it is no longer possible to withdraw the seal wire. The combination of a core wire and a wrapped wire gives the seal wire an extra grip.

Galvanized steel wire with 7 kg breaking strength

The Seal Wire 50/30 is made of galvanized steel wire. The galvanization of the steel wire provides protection against corrosion. Thanks to the use of steel wire, the sealing wire achieves a breaking strength of approximately 7 kg. A lighter version is the Seal Wire 20/20. This type of wire has a breaking strength of only 1.7 kg. The low breaking strength makes this wire suitable for opening in an emergency.

Suitable for sealing meters and technical equipment

Sealing with sealing wire and lead seals is a reliable way of sealing. Thanks to the galvanized wire, the seal wire can be used in damp areas. Given the thin diameter of only 1.1 mm, the sealing wire is suitable for sealing gas meters, electricity meters, and water meters, for example. However, the seal may only be installed by a certified installer in consultation with the network operator. As a private individual, it is prohibited to replace seals in the meter cupboard without the permission of the network operator!

Sealing technical equipment and various meters is also possible with the sealing wire. The thin steel wire easily fits through tight, tight openings. The wire can be cut to any desired length, so even a few meters of wire can be used.
