The SBS Turtle Container Lock, equipped with the Abloy® PL-358T padlock, has achieved the highest possible KIWA SCM certification, namely the “Heavy Duty” classification. The SBS Turtle Container Lock is the most reliable closure for both containers and trailers.
A trailer lock on the back of the trailer is exposed to external factors, including extreme weather conditions. A lock on a truck is also subject to splashing rainwater from the road surface. To protect these, the trailer locks are supplied in different variants. The Vipera Trailer lock , for example, is made of very high quality chrome-plated steel. This is to prevent corrosion and to guarantee a long life.
A trailer lock consists of two brackets that can be pushed towards each other. Both parts of have a rounding that is placed behind the rods of the trailer. By sliding both parts towards each other, against both bars, the doors of the truck are closed. The cylinder lock then presses a steel pin into the bracket, making it impossible to slide out. The brackets can only be moved apart when opening with the key of the lock.
The distance between the bars/bars can vary from trailer to trailer. The trailer locks from Navacqs can be set variably and therefore fit on any common trailer or semi-trailer. The distance that the locks can bridge varies from about 20 to 45 cm. It is strongly recommended to place the locks of the locks as close as possible to the rods of the trailer.
The lock cylinders of the trailer locks are integrated into the housing for extra protection. To also protect the cylinders against moisture and dirt, for example, the trailer locks are supplied with a matching cover cap. This is easy to place on the cylinder. With both the Polarlock and the Vipera Trailer lock , the cover caps are attached to the lock in order not to lose them.
Each truck lock is supplied from stock with at least two keys. With this there is a key for daily use, but also a spare key to keep in a safe place. The Vipera Trailer lock even comes with no less than 3 keys. The supplied keys are issued once and cannot be reordered. It is therefore extra important to properly store the spare key (s).
