The Pull Tite 300 Fire Reel Seal is specifically designed to seal fire reels. The long sealing tail of the seal fits easily around the water tap / valve of a fire hose. The seal can be compared to the Fire Hose Reel Seal FS-300 , but an important difference is that the full tightening of the Pull Tite 300 is not possible.

Every year, certified companies check and clean the fire hose reels in a building. After checking, the inspector immediately seals the tested fire hose. Not only does this demonstrate that the fire reel has been approved, but it also counts as a security layer. The fire reel may only be used in an emergency situation. Legionella can develop in stagnant water in the fire hose. To prevent this, fire reels are sealed with an easy-to-break seal.

The Pull Tite 300 Sealant Fire Reel has a very thin seal tail with a diameter of only 2.6 mm. Due to the small diameter, the seal has a low breaking strength. It also makes the seal extra flexible, making sealing easy. A thicker, often stiffer, seal is difficult to process around a fire reel. In addition, a strong seal is not suitable for breaking quickly in an emergency situation.

Manufactured from one piece of plastic

The seal is made from only one piece of plastic. The closing mechanism is also made of the same type of plastic. Many other seals have a closing mechanism made of stainless steel or Acetal (Delrin®). The advantage of choosing one-part production is that production costs are lower. The result is a reliable seal with a relatively low breaking strength of 6 kg. Seals with a stainless steel closure or Acetal often have a higher breaking strength, for example the Medium Duty Pull Tight Seal or Universal Seal).
