The Neptune Container Seal is a simple container seal. The container seal has a specially designed anti-spin system in the form of metal fins and is provided with a unique print and ascending numbering. Thanks to these fraud-preventing features, Neptune is provided with the ISO17712: 2013 certificate . This will allow the seal to be accepted by customs authorities worldwide, including C-TPAT (USA) .

The Neptune Container Seal consists of two parts, namely a steel pin and a metal can. The can is provided with a plastic casing. The steel pin has a diameter of 8 mm. Both parts click together when sealing. When the seal is closed, opening is no longer possible.

There are metal fins on the steel pin. In the second steel portion of the seal there are two slots between which the fins slide during sealing. This makes it impossible to rotate / turn both parts. This so-called anti-spin system ensures that sealing by spinning / rotating at high speed is not possible.

The canister of sealing has an ABS plastic shell. In contrast to the Barrier Container Seal is the Neptune Container Seal does not have an ABS plastic layer around the steel pin. This exposes the metal to, among other things, seawater and increases the risk of corrosion. The numbering cannot be read properly upon arrival.

Simple container seal with the official ISO 17712: 2013 Certificate

Thanks to the simple yet thoughtful seal design, the Neptune Container Seal features an ISO17712: 2013 certification . This is because the seal has been tested by an external independent research agency. The American company Dayton T. Brown is a leading organization and certifies many container seals. For example, the Barrier Container Seal and Cable Seal 350 have also been tested and officially certified by Dayton T. Brown.

The certification process consists of two parts, namely the certification of the seal and the inspection of the production process. The seals are checked for a number of physical properties. The seal must first bear the manufacturer’s name. Secondly, the seal must have a unique imprint and ascending numbering. Finally, the seal must bear the letter “H” which stands for High Security. This allows you to immediately check whether a seal is officially certified.

The seal must also have a series of properties to prevent fraud. First of all, the seal must have an anti-spin system. Second, the seal must have a minimum breaking strength, so that the seal cannot be opened by hand. Finally, both ends must be made of steel and have a minimum width. This way, the seal cannot be knocked through the lock.

Approved by customs authorities worldwide, including C-TPAT (USA)

Thanks to the ISO 17712: 2013 certification, the Neptune Container Seal is suitable for sealing containers. Customs authorities worldwide only accept containers with an ISO 17712: 2013 certified seal. For example, the US customs authority (C- TPAT) certified container seals only. C-TPAT stands for Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism and is a collaboration between neighboring countries, including Mexico, Canada and the United States.

In addition, there is a collaboration in the maritime sector, namely the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code, abbreviated to ISPS. This code was developed by the International Maritime Organ ization and aims to prevent terrorism from ships and port facilities. It is also mandatory to use an ISO 17712: 2013 certified container seal.

Provided with one-off unique imprint and ascending numbering

The Neptune Container Seal is provided from stock with a unique combination of printing and numbering. The numbering is lasered on the pin of the seal. The canister of the seal is also provided with a unique print and ascending numbering. These requirements are taken from the regulations of ISO 17712: 2013 . Both Navacqs and the manufacturer of the seal ensure that this unique combination is only produced once.
